Jewel, Delwar, Sohel secure bail

The High Court (HC) on Sunday granted six months’ bail to Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel, former Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) president Delwar Hossain and Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebak Dal (SD) president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel in separate criminal cases. The cases were filed with different police stations in the capital in connection with vandalism, torching vehicles during hartals and blockades, and May 5 Hefajat-e-Islam disorder at Motijheel Shapla Chattar. An HC division bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the orders after hearing separate bail petitions filed by the accused. However, it is yet to confirm whether they could be freed from incarceration after securing bails on Sunday, according to a news agency.
