JGPS defeat KGPS

GAIBANDHA, Nov 11 (BSS): The final match of Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament-2010 in district level organised by district administration and Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) was held at Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town here Wednesday.
The match was held between Jamalpur Government Primary School (JGPS) of Sadullapur Upazila and Kanchipara Government Primary School (KGPS) of Fulchhari Upazila in the district.
In the match, JGPS defeated KGPS by 3-2 goals in tiebreaker.
Earlier, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Rasu of JGPS was adjudged the best player of the competition.
Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, MP and member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry, witnessed the match and formally handed over the champion trophy to the winners as the chief guest.
Speaking at the function local lawmaker Mahbub Ara Begum Gini urged the teachers of the schools to continue different types of sports including football for physical and mental development of the children side by side with running academic studies.
