Jhut items worth Tk 5.0m gutted by fire

A large quantity of Jhut (garment wastes) items worth Tk 5.0 million were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in the capital's Mirpur area Monday, firefighters said. Witnesses said the fire originated at a storehouse in Mirpur Jhut Palli, where most of the city's jhut storehouses are located, at about 1:30am apparently from an electric short circuit.
