Jibon Boli emerges champion

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 25: The 113th edition of traditional and historical 'Jabberer Boli Khela' (wrestling competition) was held at Laldighir Par in Chattogram today (Monday).
Tarequl Islam Jibon (Jibon Boli) of Chokoria upazila in Cox's Bazar won the title of the 113th edition of 'Jabberer Boli Khela' as he beat Shahjalal Boli of Cumilla in the final round.
Match referee Abdul Malek declared Jibon Boli the winner as he got three points more than Shahjalal Boli.
Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Alhaj Rezaul Karim Chowdhury attended the function as the chief guest while Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Saleh Mohammed Tanvir inaugurated it.
Champion Jibon Boli and runner-up Shahjalal Boli received the prize money from the CMP commissioner.
However, Jibon Boli and Shahjalal Boli have expressed their dissatisfaction over the poor prize money. They have also urged the government to take steps for holding historical sports events and raising the amount of prize money.
'Baishakhi Mela' started at Laldighir Maidan on April 24 last. Hundreds of stalls have been set up in the area.
