JICA chief Tanaka visits DU June 16

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) president Akihiko Tanaka is expected to visit Dhaka University (DU) on June 16. Akihiko Tanaka will address the students, teachers, researchers and officials of DU at a programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at 10:00am on June 16. He will also visit the Japan Study Centre at DU and exchange views with the DU authorities regarding JICA-supported activities. Meanwhile, DU vice chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said has Akihiko Tanaka’s visit to DU within a short period of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Japan bears a lot of significance. ‘Japan is our trusted friend and the bilateral relation between the two friendly countries is excellent and this relationship is strengthening day by day,’ he observed, according to a news agency.
