Jihad\\\'s rescue and police behaviour
Sunday, 28 December 2014
Our media are still vibrant with the incident of child Jihad's tragic death. But what is really appalling is the way Jihad's father was harassed and detained by the police for nearly twelve hours. The government agencies failed to recover Jihad in spite of prolonged operations, but a private group of intelligent and capable rescue volunteers recovered the dead body in their first attempt using a cage instantly made of rods from a nearby construction site.
The government agencies got it well setup passing the buck on to the contractor despite the fact that covering of the bare hole was certified by them as proper. Now they are giving the culprits respite with a lame excuse of waiting for the accident report while they prepare and make up their excuse to evade responsibility. If this matter is not properly and strictly taken up and investigated by the authorities and harsh punishment awarded to the culprits, things are never going to be all right.
