JL leader dies in road accident

A local Jubo League (JL) leader was killed in a road accident in Mastarbari area in Gazipur city on Wednesday midnight. The dead is Rakib Hossain, 35, joint-secretary of Sadar Upazila unit Jubo League and son of Abdur Rashid of Bhaouraid area of the city. Police and locals said Rakib was returning home from Kaulatia-Nanduain area of the city by a motorcycle around midnight. A rice-laden truck rammed Rakib’s bike, leaving him dead on the spot. Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to escape, according to a news agency.
