JL leader held in Bogra

BOGRA, Dec 26 (UNB): A local Jubo League (JL) leader was arrested Friday on charge of looting money and a mobile phone set from a hotel after assaulting a hotel employee in Dhunat poura area.
The arrestee was identified as Saidul Islam (40), secretary of JL Dhunat poura unit and son of Khorshed Ali of Sadar upazila.
Local people said a group of JL men swooped on a hotel on the night of December 19. They at one stage beat the hotel employee mercilessly and looted Tk 39,000 from the cash box and a mobile phone set.
Police after preliminary investigation arrested Saidul.
