JL leader killed in Bagerhat

KHULNA, September-03: A Jubo League (JL) leader was killed by the miscreants in Bagerhat town on Wednesday night.
He was identified as Shohag Shaikh (20), son of Hakim Shaikh of Nager Bazar area of Bagerhat town and the JL organising secretary of word no-08 of Bagerhat municipality.
Officer in-charge (OC) of Bagerhat Sadar thana Tojammel Haque said the miscreants picked up Shohag Shaikh in an auto-rickshaw from bus-stand area around 8:00 pm on Wednesday. The miscreants chopped him with sharp weapons and cut veins of two legs at Bashabati area, leaving him critically injured. After hearing his screams, local people rushed to the spot and took him to Bagerhat sadar hospital. On his way to Khulna Medical College, he succumbed to injuries. The motive behind the killing could not be immediately ascertained.
