JL leader knifed dead in Narsingdi

Some miscreants knifed to death a local leader of Jubo League (JL) in Narsingdi town on Thursday afternoon. The dead is Shawpan Miah, 32, son of Late Omar Ali, a resident of Pachhim Dattapara of the district town and a local JL leader. Witnesses said some miscreants stabbed Shawpan in front of his house and fled scene after confirming his death. Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Earlier, the victim filed three general dairies (GD) as he was threatened over cell phone by some unidentified people. Abul Kashem, officer-in-charge of Narsingdi Police Station, confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
