JL leader slaughtered

SIRAJGANJ, Aug 29 (UNB): Assailants slaughtered a local Jubo League (JL) leader at Adhasaki Dakshinpara village in Belkuchi Upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Humayun Islam (35), president of UP Ward Jubo League.
The police said a gang of six terrorists, led by Saidul, called Humayun out of his home at about 1:30am and slaughtered him on the courtyard.
On information, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdul Latif Biswas rushed to the spot in the afternoon.
According to local people reason behind the killing might be a previous enmity.
Earlier on August 24, the terrorists set ablaze his house.
