Friday, 31 October 2014

Five members of banned Islamist outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including its chief coordinator Abdun Noor, have been arrested in Sirajganj, RAB says.
The elite police unit's spokesperson Mufti Mahmud Hasan told bdnews24.com the militants were detained from a railway station in the early hours of Friday.
Indian intelligence, investigating the Burdwan bomb blast case, claimed to have uncovered a JMB plot to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP chief Khaleda Zia.
A good amount of explosives and bomb-making materials were found on them, the RAB officer said.
In October, police said the banned outfit was planning a massive attack across Bangladesh to grab international headlines.
India's National Intelligence Agency said it unearthed a major JMB plot to carry out attacks in Bangladesh.
