Joint exercise TIGER SHARK-4 opens Sept 19

An eight-day joint training exercise titled TIGER SHARK-4 between Bangladesh and the USA will start on September 19, said a press release.
Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force and other law enforcing agencies like Coastguard, BGB and the police will jointly take part with US military forces in the exercise.
About 500 personnel, a few helicopters and Navy ships from Bangladesh side and about 350 personnel, few aircraft, helicopters and Navy ships from US armed forces will take part in the exercise. The exercise will mostly be conducted in Chittagong and Sylhet area.
Meanwhile, a joint Bangladesh-India Army mountaineering team has successfully reached Mount Jogin-3 peak in the Himalayan mountains.
The mountaineering team was able to reach the height of the mountain peak of 20353 feet (6106 metres) at Garhwan Himalayan ranges on September 11, said another press release.
The highest peak of the Himalayas is the Mount Everest which is 8848 metres (29028 feet) high. Bangladesh army personnel have shown a high level of physical ability and efficiency in this connection.
