Joint forces arrest BNP leader in Bogra

BOGRA, July 28 (UNB): Army-led anticrime joint forces arrested BNP leader and municipal chairman AKM Mahbubur Rahman near the circuit house in the town Saturday.
Police and witnesses said a team of the joint forces picked up Mahbub, former president of the district unit of the immediate-past ruling party, at noon "on charge of corruption and nepotism".
He was later handed over to sadar thana police.
After his arrest, as part of action under the current countrywide operation against serious crime and corruption, the forces launched a search of his house in the town. The search continued till the time of filing the report at 2.30pm.
