Jordan inks $250m loan deal with WB

AMMAN, Apr 10 (Xinhua): Jordan' Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation signed a US$250 million loan agreement with the World Bank, the state-run Petra news agency reported on Thursday.
Jordan's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Seif said the loan will be used to enhance the management of the government's spending and expenditure.
In addition, the loan will be used to increase the role of the private sector in economic growth and improve accountability and transparency.
The loan will be paid back over a period of 30 years and has an interest rate of less than one per cent, the minister said.
The minister voiced appreciation for the World Bank's support to the Kingdom, which contributed to the development of the country.
