Journalist Azizul Haque Banna passes away

Senior journalist Azizul Haque Banna died of cardiac arrest at the city's Apollo Hospitals Tuesday morning. He was 62, reports UNB. He left behind his wife, three daughters, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. Born at Dhulia village in Baufal Upazila of Patuakhali in 1949, Banna began his journalistic career as the Barisal correspondent of the daily Sangram. Later, he also worked in different newspapers. He was the assistant editor of the daily Sangram until his death. Meanwhile, acting Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a condolence message expressed his deep shock at the death of Banna. Leaders of the National Press Club, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and Dhaka Union of Journalists in separate messages have also expressed their condolences at the death of Banna. They prayed for peace of the departed soul.
