Journalist Balu\\\'s 11th death anniv being observed

The 11th death anniversary of eminent journalist Humayun Kabir Balu is being observed in Khulna on Saturday. Different socio-cultural organisations and political parties have chalked out vsrious programmes to mark the day. Khulna Press Club will arrange a discussion meeting, doa mahfil and place wreaths at the journalists monument at Khulna Press Club premises. Khulna Working Journalists Unity (KWJU) will bring out a mourning procession in the city, place wreaths at the journalists' monument and arrange a discussion at Khulna Press Club. Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) and Rafiquzzaman Smrity Parishad will also observe the day through different programmes. Khulna City Awami League and its front organisations will place wreaths at the journalists' monument. Humayun Kabir Balu, editor of Dainik Janmabhumi, was killed in a bomb attack in front of his Khulna city office on June 27, 2004, according to a news agency.
