Journalist Faiz Ahmed honoured

Eminent journalist and writer Faiz Ahmed was given special honour for his outstanding contribution to journalism.
Bhorer Kagoj, a Bangla daily, gave the honour to the elderly journalist at its representatives' conference-2008 at the National Press Club in the city Thursday, reports BSS.
Farhana Mitu, niece of Faiz Ahmed, received the special award from the editor of the daily Shyamal Dutt on behalf of the renowned journalist.
The speakers at the function recalled the outstanding contribution of Faiz Ahmed in the field of journalism.
Editor Shyamal Dutt, adviser of the daily and former lawmaker Asaduzzaman Noor, former editor Benzir Ahmed, adviser Tofazzal Hossain and Farhana Mitu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Representatives and Bhorer Kagoj correspondents at the district and upazila levels took part in the conference.
