Journalist Zaman Chy passes away

Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury, editor of the now-defunct Chitrali, died Wednesday in the city's Ibn Sina Hospital. He was 67, reports BSS. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at 11:30 am at Jatiya Press Club today (Thursday). Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of eminent cine journalist Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury. In a condolence message, the PM recalled his invaluable contribution to the country's cine journalism as well as film industry. "His death is an irreparable loss to the country's cine journalism and film industry," she said. Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
