Journo Golam Faruq passes away

Golam Faruq, managing editor of the Bonik Barta, died of cardiac arrest in Mymensingh on Monday night. He was 48. Faruq, also son of Awami League MP from Mymensingh-6 constituency Moslem Uddin, breathed his last at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) around 10pm. Family members were preparing for celebrating his 49th birthday at their Nahar Road residence in the district town around 8:30pm when Faruq complained of chest pain. He was whisked off to the MMCH where he died while undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, Golam Faruq was buried at his family graveyard at Kushmile village in Fulbaria village after Maghrib prayers on Tuesday following two namaz-e-janazas. His first janaza was held at the National Press Club in the capital around 11am which was attended, among others, by his fellow journalists. The second janaza was held at Fulbaria University College field after Asr prayers, according to a news agency.
