The second death anniversary of eminent journalist Jahirul Haque will be observed today (Wednesday).
Jahirul Haque was the former director general of external publicity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was also the former president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ). He died on June 10, 2007 of cardiac arrest, a press release said.
DUJ president Abdus Shahid and general secretary Muhammad Baker Husain in a message deeply remembered their former media colleague for his contribution to establishing the rights of journalists.
Family members of late Jahirul Haque has organised a Doa Mahfil at his residence at 42/3 West-Malibagh, Chowdhury Para after Asr prayer on June 12.
