Journo killing: 4 accused on 4-day remand

A court here on Wednesday placed four people, including the principal of Trust College, on a 4-day remand in connection with the killing of a reporter of a weekly magazine. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman passed the order when Mohammad Oli Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Uttara West Police Station and investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each of them. The accused are -Bashir Ahmed, Principal of Trust College, Nazrul Islam, Jahidul Islam and Anisur Rahman. On Sunday, Shah Alam Shagar, a reporter of a weekly magazine, died after falling from the rooftop of the building of Uttara West Police Station, according to UNB.
