Journo Mamunul Haq dies

Kazi Mamunul Haq, economic editor of the now defunct the Bangladesh Observer, passed away at his Shantinagar residence on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
He was 72.
He left behind his two daughters, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
The body of the veteran journalist was taken to his ancestral home in Feni where he was laid to eternal rest after Zohr prayers.
Haq, who also worked in Weekly Holiday, The Independent and The New Nation, was a permanent member of the Jatiya Press Club. His daughter Kazi Farzana Haque, also a journalist by profession, has been working in news agency United News of Bangladesh (UNB) as a joint news editor.
