Journos for making Zaglul\\\'s road crash death probe report public

Members of the journalist community on Tuesday demanded that government make public the investigation report on journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury’s death in a city road accident. They took to the street and formed a human chain in protest against the demise of the eminent columnist, who died in a road crash in Karwan Bazaar on Saturday night. Speakers at the demonstration said: ‘The government must make public the findings by the committee formed to investigate the road crash that killed renowned journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury as soon as the report is submitted to it by the probe body. They also urged the government for implementing the recommendations of the probe body to ensure road safety. The journalists from Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) organised the programme in the city around 11:45am and continued for more than one hour. Zaglul, 65, Consulting Editor of the Financial Express, fell on the road in Sonargaon Hotel Intersection when he tried to alight from a bus but the vehicle recklessly pulled away before he could get off. The senior journalist was rushed to Mohona Hospital in Panthapath and shifted to Comfort Hospital in Green Road where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:30pm, according to a news agency.
