Journos stage demo protesting bid to kidnap DRU leader

Journalists on Monday staged demonstrations in front of National Press Club in the city on Monday protesting the alleged attempt to abduct Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) president Shahed Chowdhury. They staged a rally and held a human chain halting the traffic movement on Topkhana Road. Unidentified miscreants made a futile attempt to abduct Shahed Chowdhury in the city on Sunday evening. The incident took place at Bijoy Sarani when he along with other journalist leaders was going to join an Iftar party boarding a microbus from the DRU, according to a news agency.
