Joy off to Norway

Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy, information and communication technology adviser to the Prime Minister, left Dhaka for Norway on Wednesday morning to attend a road show in three northern European countries. He flew to Norway's capital Oslo on a Qatar Airways flight around 8am. At Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Dhaka, Joy spoke to journalists about the progress and potential of the IT sector in Bangladesh. He also emphasised on participation of youths to take Bangladesh forward. "The young people are now becoming ministers, MPs and entrepreneurs. The youth will take this country forward," he said. State Minister for Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Shamim Ahsan are also accompanying Joy to the visit. Shamim Ahsan said the two-day road show would begin on Thursday in Norway, Germany and Denmark. Joy would also give a presentation on the ICT industry and its products in Bangladesh at a seminar in Oslo. Some 300 IT sector Investors and a BASIS delegation would also be present at the seminar, according to bdnews24.com.
