Joy spoke like an imbecile: BNP

Saturday, 15 November 2014

The BNP has come down hard on prime minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy for his comments over its founder Ziaur Rahman. ‘Joy is the new leader of the new generation. He’s young. What can I say about him? I won’t comment on a personal note, but I can only ask him to stop speaking like an imbecile. Speaking ill of Ziaur Rahman would be tantamount to denying Bangladesh’s history and its roots,’ said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the acting Secretary General of the BNP. Ruling party leaders had earlier said that Tarique Rahman was acting like an ‘imbecile’ when the BNP leader in exile said that Awami League was a party of ‘disgraceful people’ and Sheikh Hasina was the ‘disgraced leader of a disgraceful group’. Mirza Fakhrul said on Saturday that Joy would not be accepted by the new generation, if he continues to ‘speak like other Awami League leaders’, according to bdnews24.com.
