Joy to visit ministries Aug 2

Sajeeb Wajed Joy, adviser to the prime minister on information and communication technology (ICT), will attend his office at the ministry next month. A highly-placed source at the ministry said Joy, also the son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will visit the ministry next month. Officials and staff of the office of the PM’s ICT affairs adviser have been taking preparation ahead of his visit in August, an official of the ministry closed to Joy, said. ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) affairs adviser Sajeeb Wajed Joy will visit several ministries, including this (ICT affairs), on August 2,’ the official said. He (Joy) is expected to visit the power, energy and mineral resources ministry first on Aug 2. He will spend some times with State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid during the visit, a news agency reported on Wednesday. When contacted, the state minister said that they had invited Joy to visit the ministry to see for himself the presentation of an e-office programme. He said the project has been implemented following the instructions of the ICT affair’s adviser to the PM. “I am implementing this project (e-office) following the instructions of the PM’s ICT affairs adviser and we have invited him to see the presentation of this project,” the news agency said quoting the state minister. Meanwhile, employees and staff of the power division were seen busy in decorating their office. ‘We are taking preparation ahead of the visit by the prime minister’s adviser,’ a power division official said on Wednesday, according to a news agency.
