Joypurhat farmers overjoyed with Boro prospects

JOYPURHAT, Mar 21: Mizanur Rahman, a farmer of Sadar Upazila working in his Boro field was very happy. He told the FE correspondent that he cultivated two acres of land and expects good production from it. He expressed with joy that this year he may get good results because of conducive weather and good care of his Boro paddy. Not only Mizanur Rahaman most of the farmers of this district are expecting a good Boro production. When visiting the various areas in the district, this correspondent cause across nice green view of the Boro fields. Most of the farmers of this district expressed their happiness over the production. Joypurhat is famous for a surplus crops production area in the country. Agriculture Extension Department of the district is also expecting that Boro production target may exceed in the running season. According to DAE sources, this year 70 thousand and 5 hundred hectares of land have been brought under the Boro cultivation. The office said that this year weather has been good and DAE provided guidance to the farmers. Book fair begins Another message adds: An 8 day-long book fair has begun at Sahid Dr. Abul Kashem Moidan in Joypurhat city organised by district Administration with co-operation by national library of Bangladesh Sunday. Monjur Hassan Bhuiyan, acting deputy director of Joypurhat inaugurated the fair. At least 50 book stalls and 20 other stalls were displayed in the fair. Scores of buyers and readers with children are thronging the stalls.
