JS body decides to present compiled report on Food Act

The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Food has decided to present a compiled report on a recently placed proposed food act before the parliament, reports BSS.
The decision was taken by the committee at its 10th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad on Friday, with its chairman Dipankar Talukder MP in the chair.
The committee members discussed in details the proposed law titled "Production, storage, movement, transportation, supply, distribution, and marketing of food grains (Prevention of Prejudicial Activity) Bill, 2023" and decided to present the report after reviewing it accurately, said a Parliament Secretariat press release.
Committee members including Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Direndra Devnath Sambhu, M Ayenuddin, Begum Anjum Sultana and Dorthy Rahman were present at the meeting.
Concerned secretary of the food ministry, director general of the Department of Food, ministry officials, different division and agency chiefs and officials from the parliament secretariat, among others, attended the meeting.
