JS body for expediting procedure to set up fertiliser factories

The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Industries suggested quick completion of procedures to set up new fertiliser factories in the country, reports BSS. The 16th meeting of the parliamentary standing committee at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban also recommended for monitoring in the construction of Shahjalal Fertiliser Factory. Chaired by committee chairman Tofail Ahmed, the meeting was attended, among others, by Industries Minister Dilip Barua, and committee members Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, SM Abdul Mannan, M Meraz Uddin Molla, Jahid Malek, M Ali Asgar and Sultana Bulbul. The meeting recommended giving permission to four to five more sugar refineries. It suggested purchasing land instead of renting to set up dry dock in Chittagong. The meeting recommended expansion of activities of Bangladesh Chemical and Small Industries Corporation (BCSIC) to generate employment for more people in the country.
