JS body for raising Biman flights

The number of flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd should be increased to turn it into a profit-making entity, reports BSS.
This was stated by the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the ministry of civil aviation and tourism Tuesday.
The committee at a meeting also asked for modernization of the luggage management of the national flag carrier for ensuring proper customer care of its passengers, said a press release.
Committee chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, the members also suggested taking all necessary steps for upgrading the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) to category 01 from category 02 as per the criteria of Federal Aviation Association (FAA) of the USA.
The members also discussed the progress of ongoing development programmes of the CAAB.
The committee recommended taking steps for improving the standard of Sonargaon Hotel and its internal management.
