JS body for spreading Joyeeta\\\'s activities in rural areas

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Sunday suggested spreading the activities of Joyeeta, an initiative for empowering women through economic activities, in rural areas instead of keeping it confined to cities.
 The suggestion was made at the 11th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, with Committee chairman Rebeka Momin presiding, said an official release, reports BSS.
 The committee members State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroze Chumki, M Mozammel Hossain, Nasrin Jahan Ratna, Monoara Begum and Begum Fazilatun Nesa attended the meeting.
The meeting held detailed discussion on the measures taken for making a gender sensitive budget and the activities of Ladies' Club under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
It also discussed about the development and training courses of Women's Agriculture Institute in Bagerhat.
The committee suggested installing a deep tube-well in the institute and repairing roads inside the insitute.
It recommended supplying required computers and other equipments for modernisation of all training centres.
The meeting expressed deep shock at the death of committee member and MP from Magura-1 constituency Mohammad Sirajul Akbar and conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
Senior officials concerned were present.
