Friday, 28 November 2014

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education Ministry has suggested that the government introduce a unified admission process for all universities under the supervision of the University Grants Commission (UGC). It observed that the unified admission process will save both time and money of the applicants. The committee came up with the suggestion at its 7th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Afsarul Amin in the chair on Thursday evening. The parliamentary watchdog also recommended that the UGC place before the committee documents that different private universities provided to it about their own land. Committee members Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Salim Uddin Tarafdar, Golam Mostafa, SM Abul Kalam Azad, Mamunur Rashid and Selina Akhter Banu attended the meeting, according to a news agency.
