JS body on CHT Affairs for filling up of vacant posts

The third meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) met Thursday at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhavan to review implementation and progress of decisions taken at its previous meetings, reports BSS.
Chairman of the committee A M Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury was in the chair, while other members of the committee Mohammad Subed Ali Bhuiya, M Abdul Latif, Ushatan Talukder, Firoza Begum (Chinu) and the minister of state for the ministry, Bir Bahadur U Shoi Singh participated.
The meeting was informed that to ensure healthcare in the Hill Tracts a letter had been sent to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to appoint doctors to fill up the vacant positions from among local residents who have MBBS degree through BCS examinations or on an ad-hoc basis.
The committee recommended swift and effective action to fill up the vacant positions.
They also recommended filling up of the vacant positions in the educational institutions of CHT.
