JS body on liberation war affairs ministry meets

The 17th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs ministry was held at the Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban Wednesday, reports UNB.
A report on the latest progress of implementation of decisions taken by the committee in its meetings from 1st to 14th was placed and discussed in details at the day's meeting chaired by committee
chairman Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam.
The meeting recommended placing before the committee by June 30 its opinion after defining and analyzing the status of martyrs, families of martyred freedom-fighters and challenged people.
It also recommended taking necessary steps to make Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust (freedom-fighters' welfare trust) more effective.
The committee decided to meet the Prime Minister after defining the terms of Muktijuddho (war of liberation), Muktijoddha and Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust, and preparing and finalising the paper works on the relationship between Muktijoddha Sangsad and the government.
Committee members Showkat Momen Shahjahan, Shamsur Rahman Sharif and Waresat Hossain Belal attended the meeting.
Acting secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry Ujjal Bikash Datta and officials of the ministry and concerned organisations were present.
