JS body on Public Accounts holds meet

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday discussed progress in implementation of decisions in connection with audit objections against the foreign ministry and the civil aviation and tourism ministry.
The discussion was held at the 9th meeting of the committee at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the chair, reports BSS.
The meeting recommended that the decisions taken in the committee's 5th meeting over 21 objections of those ministries' annual audit reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General in fiscal years (FYs) 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 would have to be implemented with the extended time.
The meeting also discussed audit objections on annual reports of the ministry of LGRD and Cooperatives and the ministries for communications and agriculture in FYs 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2010-11.
Among others, committee members M Abdus Shaheed, M Ishak Hossain Talukder, M Afsarul Amin, Rebeka Mobin, M Shamsul Haq Tuku, Mainuddin Khan Badal, AKM Maidul Hossain. M Rustam Ali Farazi and Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan were present at the meeting.
