JS body praises BD peacekeepers\\\' role

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence Ministry praised on Thursday Bangladesh armed force's role in UN's blue helmet missions in Africa's trouble torn Congo and Ivory Coast as members of the committee reviewed their recent visit experiences there, reports BSS.
"Members of the (standing) committee described their experiences during the visits (in Congo and Ivory Coast) in a meeting when they reviewed in details the role of Bangladesh armed forces in the UN missions."
The committee urged the armed forces to keep up their performance in UN missions abroad in the interest of Bangladesh as well as establishing peace in troubled regions of the world.
Chairman of the committee Major General (Retd) Mohammad Shubid Ali Bhuiyan presided over the meeting joined by its members Muhammad Faruk Khan, M Mahbubur Rahman, Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury and Hosne Ara Begum.
