JS body recommends more publicity for tourism

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry recommended on Monday to make more publicity for attracting tourists.
The meeting was held at the Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan in the chair, said a press release, reports BSS .
Committee members Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Professor Ali Ashraf, Tanveer Imam, M Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Kamrul Ashraf Khan, M Aftab Uddin Sarkar, Rawshon Ara Mannan and Sabiha Nahar Begum attended the meeting.
The meeting also recommended close monitoring on the tourism sector as a oil tanker sank in the Shela River adjacent to the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world, the release said.
The meeting discussed development issues of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and recommended using its resources for further development.
