JS body suggests filling in vacant posts of agriculture research institutions

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture Ministry recommended filling up the vacant posts of agriculture research institutions to expedite research in the country.
The recommendation was made at its 14th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban Wednesday, reports BSS.
The committee Chairman Shaukat Momen Shajahan presided over the meeting.
The meeting recommended introduction of agriculture research service, stimulus for researchers, human resource and infrastructure development and more allocations for research.
It also suggested to inform the Prime Minister about the problem in implementation of 'one house, one farm' project.
The meeting urged the Finance Ministry to take steps for formation of guidelines and implementation of crop insurance.
The meeting recommended raising the manpower of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) from 2088 to 3044.
The committee members Agriculture Minister Motia Chowdhury, Khandaker Abdul Baten, Abul Kalam Azad, Shah Zikrul Ahmed, Abdul Mannan and Noorjahan Begum attended the meeting.
Agriculture Secretary CQK Mushtaq Ahmed and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
