JS body suggests steps on reclaiming 51 schools\\\' land in city

The parliamentary standing committee on primary and mass education ministry discussed Wednesday how to recover the grabbed land of 51 government primary schools in Dhaka metropolitan area and recommended steps to be taken.
The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) committee made the recommendations at its 7th meeting at the parliament building with its chairman Motahar Hossain in the chair.
The committee also formed a five-member sub-committee, headed by AKhM Jahangir Hossain, to inform it of the progress in action to be taken to the main committee. Other members of the sub-committee are Nazrul Islam Babu, Ali Azam, Mohammad Iliyas and Umme Razia Kajol.
The committee also discussed the progress in the stipend programme for primary schools. It told the ministry to identify the schools showing an excess number of students and receiving more books than necessary, and take legal actions against them as soon as possible.      
The 'Non Formal Education Bill, 2014' was also discussed in the meeting. The bill was finalised after necessary scrutiny for placing it in the parliament.
