JS body wants expansion of Teletalk network

The state-run Teletalk mobile phone operator has been urged to modernise and expand its network across the country.
The call came at the third meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry on Monday.
The meeting said Teletalk Bangladesh Limited should attract more clients.
The meeting was informed that a project is under way to establish 11,000-kilometer optical fibre cable network across 1006 union parisahads.
Another project is under process to set up 7830 kilometres of optical fibre cables in 290 upazilas.
The meeting discussed activities of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) and suggested effective training for its officials and employees to make it a dynamic organisation, according to UNB.
