JS committee on youth, sports ministry held

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry at its 14th meeting Wednesday evaluated the development works undertaken by Juba Unnayan Directorate from January 2009, reports BSS.
Chairman of the committee Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, presided over the meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.
Committee members Shamsul Haque Chowdhury MP, M Shafiqul Azam Khan, MP and Golam Farooq Khondokar Prince, MP attended the meeting. President of Bangladesh Cricket Board AHM Mostafa Kamal attended the meeting with special invitation.
The meeting had an elaborate discussion on the forthcoming 'World Cup Cricket-2011. The meeting called for completing renovation works of five stadiums within stipulated time.
It decided that the BCB and National Sports council would jointly supervise the renovation works.
Besides, the meeting decided that the sitting capacity of Chittagong Stadium should be increased and finding alternative ways for movement of the fans.
