JS panel preference on Asian Highways
Wednesday, 19 August 2009
IT is not a matter of preference at all. It is a reality that the Asian Highways will enter into Bangladesh from India, crossing the western border of our country with India.
I think it is also not a matter of preference; rather, it is a pragmatic decision that the Asian Highways should enter into Myanmar from Bangladesh, the only country other than India with whom Bangladesh has a common border. What we need to explore is how we can bring down the Himalayan trade-gap with India through the favourable outcome of the Asian Highways network.
