JS panel to recommend ban on polythene bags

Parliamentary standing committee on the environment and forest ministry formed a sub-committee to submit report along with recommendations to ban polythene bags of all types in the next meeting.
Standing committee member Tipu Sultan was made chairman of the sub-committee.
The suggestions came at the 8th meeting of the committee at parliament building. Committee chairman Hasan Mahmud chaired the meeting.
Other committee members attending the meeting were: environment minister Anwar Hossain and Nabi Newaz, Golam Rabbani, Yahya Chowdhury, Tipu Sultan, Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury and Marina Rahman.
The committee discussed the progress of setting up of environment court and recommended to take effective steps to form the court soon.
The issues of Green Climate Fund and Bangladesh's position paper in the upcoming World Climate Conference to be held in Lima were discussed in the meeting.
