JS passes Tk2.951tr budget

The Jatiya Sangsad passed Tk2.951 trillion (Tk2,95,100 crore) national annual budget for 2015-2016 fiscal year (FY) on Tuesday afternoon. On June 4, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith proposed the Tk2.951tr national annual expenditure before the parliament for passing. Finance Minister Muhith placed the FY 2015-2016 budget, his 9th and the country’s 44th, before the 10th JS, eyeing 7 per cent GDP growth in the next financial year begining on July 1, 2015. On Tuesday morning, Muhith moved the Appropriations Bill, 2015, seeking a budgetary allocation of Tk 415308,18,88,000 which was passed by voice vote.
