JSC, JDC exams for class- VIII students to begin in 1st week of Nov

Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations for class-VIII students will be held across the country in the first week of November replacing the previous annual and junior-scholarship exams, reports UNB.
This examination will be held under eight general education boards and madrasah education board under same question paper across the country with participation of 1.9 million (19 lakh) examinees.
A 100 marks exam for each subject under the curriculum of school and madrasah will be held.
These decisions were taken at a meeting with Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid in chair at his office Wednesday.
Among others, education secretary Syed Ataur Rahman, joint-secretaries, Director General of the directorate of secondary and higher-secondary education Prof Noman-Ur- Rashid and chairman of different education boards were present.
It was told in the meeting that the results will be published by
December under GPA method and scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the results in JSC and equivalent exams.
It was decided that students would be admitted to class IX on the basis of the results of this examination and no separate examination will be held for admission to class IX.
During college (class XI) admission the results of JSC and equivalent exams will be evaluated along with the results of the SSC examination.
The education minister said that the JSC and equivalent exams would bring a qualitative change in our education system. He sought cooperation from all in this regard.
