JSC, JDC exams from Nov 2: Nahid

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations will begin across the country on November 2. He said 20,90,692 students from 27,925 educational institutions will sit for the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations-2014. The minister was speaking with journalists in the conference room of the Education Ministry on Wednesday afternoon. Education Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan, senior officials of the ministry and chairmen of different boards, among others, were present. ‘The number of JSC examinees is 17,64,595. Of them, 8,30,256 are male while 9,34,339 are female,’ Nahid said, adding a total of 3,26,097 examinees will attend the JDC examination this year. Among the JDC students, 1,54,927 are male and 1,71,170 are female, he added. A total of 1,87,946 examinees has increased in the JSC and JDC examinations this year compared to the last year as 19,02,746 candidates took part in 2013, the minister said. A total of 533 students from eight overseas centres will appear in the JSC examinations, he added, according to BSS.
