JSC, JDC exams of class VIII begin

The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and the Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations of class VIII began yesterday (Thursday) peacefully across the country with enthusiasm among students and guardians.
No candidates were expelled on the first day of examination which was held for the first time in Bangladesh.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid visited some examination centres in the city and expressed pleasure at the overall atmosphere.
Some 1,520,731 students sat for the examinations under all education boards including Madrasah Board.
Among the examinees, a total of 1,248,078 students are under school boards and 272,653 students are under Madrasah Board.
Dhaka Board had the highest number of examinees totalling around 374,440 and Sylhet Board had the lowest number of 72,500.
JSC and the JDC examinations will conclude on November 14 and 15 respectively
According to board sources, the results of the examinations would be published in the grading system.
