JSF leaders demand reopening of all closed mills and factories

RAJSHAHI, Jan 2: Leaders of Jatiya Sramik Federation (JSF) in Rajshahi at a conference held at local Bhuban Mohan Park have said that there will be no development in the country unless there is emancipation of the lot of labourers and the poverty-stricken millions.
The JSF leaders also demanded reopening of all closed mills and factories of the country and said, due to closure of mills and factories thousands of people have been rendered jobless and turned paupers. They also demanded to reopen closed Rajshahi Sericulture Mills and Rajshahi Textile Mills and to implement National Wage Commission for the daily wage earners.
The JSF leaders said, hundreds of labourers are spending days in utter miseries and hardship by losing their jobs due to closure of Rajshahi Sericulture Mills and the Rajshahi Textile Mills. They said, there were hundreds of expert technical hands who have also become unemployed. They said, despite assurance from the present government, it was disappointing that no step was taken so far to reopen this traditional silk industry in the Rajshahi and Rajshahi Textile Mills. They also said, the government had also pledged to implement national wages commission for the labourers working in various mills and factories but that is yet to be implemented.
The conference was addressed, among others by Member of Parliament of Rajshahi Sadar constituency and Politbureau Member of central Workers' Party Fazley Hossain Badsha, President( in charge) of Jatiya Shramik Federation Central Committee Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan and General Secretary of Rajshahi City Workers' Party Liakat Ali Liku.
Lawmaker Fazley Hossain Badsha inaugurated the conference of JSF by hoisting national flag and the party flag. A colourful procession also paraded city streets before the inauguration of the party conference.
